One of the biggest problems the USA faces right now is that neither legislators nor voters understand the trade-offs of living in a global economy; they don't understand that having very smart people doing exciting things are the "shop floor" of the Knowledge Economy, and having as many in the "States as possible CREATES jobs. If Americans complain, let them work as hard as others; no one is owed anything and deserves nothing except what s/he produces of merit.
